ILL ALLSTARS GEAR UP FOR THE SUMMER OF 2011

The time of the year is upon us to start getting excited for our summer tournaments with the
ILL Allstars. With the player base in Ireland growing so much since the inception of the ILL
All-Stars 12 months ago, we have decided to extend our appearance to three tournaments this
coming June:

  • Bluesfest, London – June 11th & 12th
  • Berlin Open – June 17th, 18th & 19th
  • Amsterdam Lowlands – June 24th, 25th & 26th

Bluesfest is the biggest UK tournament with 24 men’s and 12 women’s teams competing.
The ILL Allstars were the first foreign team to compete in the tournament, and we took it by
storm last year, finishing in 6th place. This is a great tournament with 7or 8 games over the
Saturday & Sunday. All of the teams set up tents and camp at the site for the weekend, so
overall costs for the tournament is very low.

The Berlin Open is THE tournament to play in every summer. The 17th Berlin Open will
take place again in the Stadium Lichterfelde, Berlin over three full days of games. The Berlin
Open is one of the biggest and most traditional adult Lacrosse tournaments in Europe. To
ensure an International tournament on a high level, 20 men and 12 women teams plus about
32 full-time referees from all over the world will be in attendance. More details at http://www.berlinopen.de.

After our 3rd place finish at the Lowlands tournament (and an epic boat trip), we will be
returning to Amsterdam at the end of June. Three full days of games and parties, so people
will need to fly in on Thursday evening/Friday morning and home Sunday night. Check out
www.lowlandslacrosse.nl for more information.

It’s understandable that many people will only be able to make 1 or 2 of these tournaments,
so that’s no problem. However, we will need to collect deposits for each tournament. So we
can ensure that we have paid the team fees in time, we will ask everyone to pay their deposit
by the Dublin gameday (Saturday, February 5th 2011). They can give cash to Paddy
(paddylax@gmail.com) or Mike K (michael.e.kennedy@ucd.ie). The costs for all three
tournaments:

Bluesfest – €20 deposit per player

Berlin – €15 deposit per player + €35 player fee on arrival to Berlin… covers players
fees, entry to parties, etc.

Lowlands – €15 deposit per player + €30 player fee on arrival to Berlin… covers
players fees, entry to parties, etc.

Over the next month or two, we will be recommending flights to book and accommodation
that we would like the team to book into.

Can’t wait for the summer!!!
