Beginner Blitz (Saturday, 1st October) and Ireland Lacrosse Men’s Referee Training

The Beginner Blitz will be taking place on Saturday, 1st October on-campus at University College Dublin (UCD).  All players, men and women and from anywhere in Ireland are welcome to attend, both experienced players as well as complete beginners.  The Beginner Blitz is aimed primarily at giving beginners to the game the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of the game, and will also involve some practice matches and a small tournament.  Experienced players (especially those in possession of the Ireland Lacrosse Level 1 Coaching Qualification) are also strongly encouraged to attend, and their assistance will be needed and greatly appreciated to ensure we have a successful and fun day.  The Beginner Blitz will be followed by a night out in Dublin (details will be made available closer to the time) where we will also be holding a raffle where people will have a great chance to win some top-notch lacrosse gear.

In conjunction with the Beginner Blitz, Ireland Lacrosse is also running its second referee training clinic.  Each club is required to supply two qualified referees for the upcoming Irish Lacrosse League (ILL) season.  The cost of participating in the referee training clinic is €5 per person (payable at the first session of the training), and anyone interested in taking part must register in advance through their club captains, who must send their list of participants to our Men’s Referee Co-ordinator (Cillian Murphy) by Friday, 16th September.
