Tom Prior Appointed Senior Men’s National Team Coach

Ireland Lacrosse National Team Director, John Cavanaugh  is proud to announce that Tom Prior will serve as the Head Coach of the 2014 National Team that will represent Ireland in the Federation of International Lacrosse’s World Championships in Denver, Colorado this July. To date Tom Prior’s service to our National Team Program has been exemplary, we are fortunate to have a head coach with Tom’s dedication, commitment & experience leading us in Denver.
When asked Coach Prior had this to say about the recent appointment, “It is a privilege and an honour to serve as the Head Coach for Team Ireland for the World Lacrosse Championships for the 2014 World Games.” He went on to say, “It is also great to work with legendary Lacrosse Coach Richie Moran and a top notch staff that is building on momentum gained  from the European Championship in 2012 and our most recent win over Israel on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.”
“I have been involved with Ireland lacrosse since 2001.   The opportunity to teach and coach lacrosse in Ireland has been tremendous experience and it is most rewarding to see the development and progress  of our players,  coaches, and referees. I look forward to the competition in Denver in July and representing Ireland lacrosse and our organization.”, said Coach Prior when asked about his experiences with Ireland Lacrosse to date.
