2022 Box Lacrosse National Team Selection Process Announced

25/08/2021 – The staff of the Men’s National Box Lacrosse team is looking to hold national team trials for the 2022 European Box Lacrosse Championships (Hannover, Germany). The European Box Lacrosse Championships are scheduled for July 30 – August 6 2022 and further details can be found at https://eblc2022.com.

Ireland Lacrosse and all national team take seriously the health and safety of our player-candidates in only the highest priority, which has been at the forefront of all planning, expectations, and discussions. We recognise that international travel has not returned to normal, and that isolation and quarantining are still prevalent today. We also recognise that all Irish citizens deserve the opportunity to try out for the National Team.

Taking the above into consideration and in order to best prepare our athletes we will advise the following:

  1. Regional Based Selection Camps – Western Canada, Ontario, NE United States and Ireland. To take place late September or October.
  2. Should widespread restrictions come into place, then we will utilise a virtual tryout format. Details to follow.

As such, final details for the trials for the Men’s National Box Lacrosse team will be finalised in the first week of September.

The National Team Vision, inclusive of eligibility and selection rules, can be found here.

This is an unprecedented time for our country and people across the globe, and we ask that all players, family members and friends of Ireland Lacrosse stay safe and well, understanding that these plans may change at short notice as events develop. Please, if planning to travel, ensure you procure Travel Insurance in case of disruptions etc.
