UPDATE: Selection Process for the 2019 Irish Women’s National Teams

2019 is a big year for Ireland Women’s Lacrosse! The Irish women’s senior national team will compete in the 2019 European Championships (16-25 July 2019 in Netanya, Israel) and Ireland’s first under-19 women’s national team will compete in the 2019 World U-19 Championships (1-10 August 2019 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada).

Selection events for these two Irish women’s national teams were held in both Ireland (23-24 June 2018 at ALSAA in Dublin) and the USA (3-5 August 2018 at the School of the Holy Child in New York). Based on performance at these events, selected players have been invited to participate in a National Team Training Camp (NTTC) in Ireland.  The details regarding the NTTC are as follows:

Weather:  Expect the weather in Dublin in late November/early December to be cold and wet.  Dress appropriately.

Local Transportation:  Besides driving, the Distillary Road venue (Belvedere College) is serviced via the Aircoach #700 to within a 10 minute walk to the location.  The #41 public bus also has a route that travels near to Belvedere College.

Accommodation:  Players are responsible for arranging their own accommodation.  Both venues are north of Dublin City, so hotels near the airport (Clayton, Crowne Plaza, Carlton) or properties in Drumcondra are recommended.

Pinnie:  Be sure to bring the pinnie you received at the selection camp (Dublin or New York)
