The Women’s National Team coaching staff and Ireland Lacrosse administrators are continuing to actively monitor this rapidly changing, unprecedented event of public health concern, COVID-19, the “novel coronavirus.”
Ireland Lacrosse has noted the announcement by An Taoiseach on 11 March 2020, that the Government of Ireland is to close all schools, colleges, public buildings and childcare facilities until April 29th 2020. It has also been advised that there be no gatherings over 100 people indoors, or 200 people outdoors.
At this time, we are cancelling our selection events in May 2020.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will follow the guidelines of the Irish government. We request those that are making preparations to attend our events do so in a healthy and measured manner, following all advice from your local governments and foreign departments in relation to travel and public outings.
At this time, we are postponing our trials further, to October 2020. Our rescheduled events will take place as follows (updated 21 July 2020)
9-11 October, 2020 – Dublin, Ireland
4-6 December, 2020 – Dublin, Ireland
This is an unprecedented time for our country and people across the globe, and we ask that all players, family members and friends of Ireland Lacrosse stay safe and well, understanding that these plans may change at short notice as events develop. Please, if planning to travel, ensure you procure Travel Insurance in case of disruptions etc.
We will continue to monitor events closely, and issue further advisories as we move closer to trial events.
