This is the selection process (as approved by the Ireland Lacrosse High Performance Committee and the Ireland Lacrosse Board) for the two Men’s Field National Teams which are due to compete in 2025:
- Men’s European Championship, Illes Academy, Szombathely, Hungary (10-19 July 2025)
- Men’s U20 World Championship, Seoguipo on Jeju Island, South Korea (18-27 July 2025)
Players who meet eligibility criteria (see National Team Vision) and who wish to be considered for selection for the U20 or Senior national field teams competing in 2025, must attend at least one selection event among those listed below, and on the basis of their performance, may be invited to attend the final National Team Training Camp (NTTC) in Dublin on 17-19 January 2025, following which the final teams for these two 2025 tournaments will be selected. All players must be fully registered members of Ireland Lacrosse (see Membership) to be eligible to participate in any of the events below, and registration will be available through the membership system (login and click ‘Events & Courses’ along the top).
Also, the Ireland Men’s and Women’s Sixes National Teams will be competing in the 2025 European Sixes Championship:
- Men’s & Women’s European Sixes Championship, Monte Gordo, Portugal (3 or 4-8 March 2025)
The above event will be a qualifier for the World Lacrosse Sixes Championship which is expected to take place in 2026 or 2027, which in turn will likely be a qualifier for the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California, USA in 2028. The selection process for these two teams will be published on this website separately.
