Ireland Appoints Head Coach for 2011

When it came to selecting a top caliber head coach for the Irish National Men’s Indoor Team, Irish National Team Director, John Cavanaugh found the most qualified applicant right withing the Irish Lacrosse Foundations membership list.  Cavanaugh announced that Jeff Dowling, who brings a wealth of experience as a play, coach, and maanger in box and field lacrosse, has been appointed as head coach for the 2011 Ireland National Indoor Team.  The team will compete in the 2011 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championships (WILC) in Prague starting May 21st, 2011.

Jeff Dowling who resides in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada; was assistant GM of the Canadian National Indoor Lacrosse team which took gold in the 2007 WILC in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2008, he was the assistant coach of the Buffalo Bandits (NLL) and in 2009 was head coach of the San Jose Stealth (NLL). His lacrosse experience includes fifteen years of playing, fifteen years of coaching, working as a boradcaster, journalist, and director of player development.
