Galway Indoor Camp Success

This past Sunday, Ireland Lacrosse ran its first ever Indoor Lacrosse Clinic and game in Galway. 2007 National Team member and Dublin Riggers captain Sean Gibson, put 23 players through thier paces while, 2007 National Team member and Dublin Riggers player Tony Devine, worked with Dave Andreucetti who learned the ropes of being an indoor goalie.

The participants who represented all five clubs in the ILL, worked through an hour of drills and skills relevant to the indoor game. They were then divided into teams to play a scrimmage. It was an excellent way for many to discover the indoor game while for others, it was an excellent opportunity to prepare for the National Team Trials. The event was extremely successful and also helped raise some money for the Galway club to help promote and develop lacrosse in their area.

Plans are already in the works to run a similar event when the Irish Lacrosse League holds it’s second gameday in Cork next month.

The National Team Trials will take place the weekend of October 29-31, 2010 in Belfast and if you are interested in attending the try-outs, please email to either irishboxlax@gmail.com or jtcav@aol.com. The try-outs are open to everyone who is eligible to play for Ireland regardless of experience. For eligibility criteria please have a look under the National Team section of this website.
