In the first ever Dublin Cup UCD emrgered as the tournament champions. Local rivals the Dublin Avengers were able to overcome fellow rivals Dublin Prawns and UK based University of Nottingham but, were unable to turn over UCD in a highly competitive preseason tournament held at Kirwan Park.
