Ireland Lacrosse National Teams Director John Cavanaugh is pleased to announce the 30-man roster for the men’s national team that is due to compete in the 2014 World Championships in Denver, Colorado from 10-19 July. In making the announcement, Cavanaugh noted that “our selection committee had a very challenging task in selecting 30 players from the nearly 70 player-candidates who gave it their all the entire 3 day; we have even tougher decisions ahead.” The players were selected based on their performance at a selection camp held in Dublin from 25-27 October 2013. The players named to the 30-man roster will now take part in a training camp taking place in New York City over the course of the St. Patrick’s Day weekend (14-18 March 2014). The training camp will include exhibition games (including against the Israeli national team which will also be taking part in the 2014 World Championships), fundraising activities and the possibility of having the national team march in the NYC St. Patrick’s Day parade (further details of these event will be posted at www.irelandlacrosse.ie in the near future). Following the March training camp in NYC, the final 23-man roster will be named for the final team which will head to Denver.
