The National Indoor Lacrosse League got underway last night with a bang. More than 25 players showed up to showcase their talents in an effort to garner NILL supremecy. The Darkside are out to an early lead with a victory over an undermanned Thunder and draw with the highly competitive Stormtroopers.
The StormTroopers also drew 5-5 with the Thunder in the other game of the evening. The action was fast paced and high tempo as bodies flew about the place. Despite organised box lacrosse not being played in the Dublin area since 2008, the standard was good and the four v four format is a huge hit amongst the leagues players.
Action takes resumes next Tuesday 8pm, as the three teams take to the floor at Loughlinstown once again. The NILL runs for 5 weeks total, when a Leinster select team will take on a Connacht select team for the National Indoor Lacrosse Championship on Sunday February 12th, 2012.

Love to hear that you boys are back in action, though a bit winded for my Thunder. Hard luck lads, but I know you’ll take it to them next week!!

Ya, I remember that hapennipg to Doug Mientkiewicz when he got traded from the Twins to the Red Sox. They were playing each other and one game he played for the Twins and the next he played for the Red Sox. It happened around 2003 or 2004.
