Heading into the Final Week of the NILL

Week four was the most competitive yet. The evening started off with a thrilling 7-7 draw featuring the Darkside and the StormTroopers. The game was there for the StormTroopers but, a late penalty call saw the Darkside tie the game in the dying seconds. Paddy O’Leary led all scorers in this game with 5 goals and 1 assist while, Mike Kennedy and David Lusby each had a pair for the StormTroopers.

The second game saw the StormTroopers run out to a 9-5 win over the winless Thunder. Mike Kennedy led the way for the Troopers with 3 goals and 1 assist while, the rest of the Troopers managed to mount a strong defense.

The final game of the evening between the Darkside and the Thunders was a thriller and it was 5-5 heading into the final five minutes of the game when the Thunder, out of nowhere, tallied 3 unanswered goals to take their first victory of the season. Sean Gibson led the charge for the Thunder with 6 goals in the game while the Darkside’s Scott Heisler had 3 goals and 2 assists.

Action takes resumes next Tuesday 8pm, as the  three teams take to the floor at Loughlinstown once again. The NILL runs for one more week. Then a Leinster select team will take on a Connacht select team for the National Indoor Lacrosse Championship on Sunday February 12th, 2012. The NILC faces off at 4pm in Loughlinstown Leisure Centre.

See you there!
