Ireland Lacrosse would like to announce that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the organisation will take place on Saturday 25th August from 11am in UCD Room A 109 Arts Block (same room as the AGM was held in last year).
The AGM is an intrinsic part of the running of the organisation, it provides a forum for any member to voice their opinions or concerns about any aspect of the organisation and how it is being run. It also allows members to offer suggestions and ideas to be considered for implementation.
Another important aspect of the AGM is that the Executive Board of Ireland Lacrosse is elected at it. Every member has the right to seek to be nominated to any of the executive board positions and to accommodate this process there will be an open nomination process where any interested member is nominated by another member and once seconded by a third is presented to the meeting as a candidate.
A public vote is then taken to determine the winning candidate for each position. The role descriptions for the current Executive Board positions are available to be viewed on the Ireland Lacrosse website and lay out the role and responsibilities of each position, please view these descriptions and consider if you, as a member, would like to be proposed as a candidate.
For the 2012/2013 period there will be a new Executive position on the Board for a Communications and Marketing Director, therefore there will be an additional position to be elected as per the process above. At present there is no role description for this position as one of the responsibilities will be to define, in conjunction with the Executive Board, the scope and requirements for this role.
Additionally, you can click here to download a copy of the minutes from last years AGM; the proposed agenda for your reference and; proposed calendar of events for forthcoming season.
I look forward to seeing you all at the AGM.
