Irish Men’s Team Heads to Denver for World Championships – Team Media Guide Launched

The Road to Denver reaches a major intersection this week as the Irish Men’s National Team players depart for Denver, Colorado, USA for the 2014 FIL World Lacrosse Championships.

The team will take part in a pre-tournament training camp at the Colorado Academy in Denver from 5-9 July.  The Opening Ceremonies for the tournament take place on 10th July, followed by the opening game between the USA and Canada, with both teams widely considered to be perennial favourites for the world title.

In the group stages Ireland has been placed in the Yellow Division with Uganda, France and Bermuda.  Ireland starts play on Friday, 11th July at 2.30pm against Uganda, the first African nation ever to participate in a lacrosse world championships.  Ireland then play France on Saturday, 12th July at 11am, and meet Bermuda the following day on Sunday, 13th July at 5.30pm.  The schedule of games following that will depend on results, with the semi-finals to be played on Thursday, 17th July and the final on Saturday, 19th July.
