Ireland Lacrosse and the Irish Lacrosse Foundation join forces with Tullamore Dew

Dublin – 9th July 2014

Ireland Lacrosse (based in Dublin) and the Irish Lacrosse Foundation (based in New York) have joined forces with William Grant & Sons Inc. and Tullamore Dew to support the Irish men’s national team competing at the World Championships in Denver, Colorado from 10-19 July.

The Irish team is currently gearing up to compete in the tournament where they will compete along with 37 other men’s national teams from around the globe in what will be the largest lacrosse tournament ever held.  The Irish team is looking to build on the team’s great success of the past few years. The team has consistently finished in the Top 10 at World Championships and most recently finished with a Silver Medal at the 2012 European Lacrosse Championships.

The latest stage in the team’s preparations has involved a training camp at Colorado Academy, which allowed the players to adjust to the heat and high humidity of Denver.  Ireland play Uganda in its opening game on Friday, 11th July at 2.30pm (Denver time), followed by a game against France on Saturday, 12th July at 11am and the final group game against Bermuda on Sunday, 13th July at 5.30pm.  Subsequent matches in the tournament will be determined by the team’s results.

The Irish programme is delighted to connect with William Grant & Sons Inc and Tullamore Dew as it expands the range of its strategic partnerships, and it looks forward to exploring the mutual benefits that can be achieved for both brands from this relationship.
