19 November 2019 Dublin, Ireland – Ireland Lacrosse today is proud to announce the 2020 Men’s Senior National Lacrosse Team. The team will represent Ireland at the European Championship being held in Wroclaw, Poland 23 July – 1 August, 2020.
UPDATE April 2020 – Due to COVID19, the European Championships have been postponed to 2021. We plan to keep the same roster for next year’s event. Any questions, please contact info@irelandlacrosse.ie
The team will be coached by Mat Curran assisted by Sean Bodie and Don Preston. Coach Curran remarked “I am very excited about the Men’s Senior National Team that will represent Ireland at the 2020 European Championships. The competition at the Euros is very tough, but I believe the team we’ve selected for the tournament has the ability to make a run at the championship. Poland is going to be an amazing experience.” This will mark Ireland’s 5th consecutive appearance in a Men’s European Field Championship dating back to 2004.
As a player-funded organisation, each rostered player is responsible for covering their respective costs to be on the team. These costs include: transportation, food, accommodation, uniforms, equipment and a whole host of other costs.
