After a wildly successful campaign at the 2025 Heritage Cup, Team Éire is headed to upstate New York for the 2025 edition of LAXNAI, the North American Box Invitational. Held at the Nexus Center, this is the largest gathering of box lacrosse teams in the United States, and one of the largest invitational box lacrosse events in the world.
The Éire Programme was established to help develop the Ireland Lacrosse National Teams. Éire teams are entered into events as a means for both National Team and non-national team players to get more experience, playing time, and coaching in non-World Lacrosse or European Lacrosse events. Eligibility for the Éire team is more flexible than for the Irish National Teams, as heritage only/non-passport holders are welcomed (see National Team Vision (Player Eligibility & Selection Policy) for more information.
Team Éire will be well represented, sending a six-team contingent to Utica: 2x Men’s Open, 2x Women’s Open, Boys U18, and Men’s 35+. More than just an invitational event, LAXNAI will serve as a key selection event for Irish National Team-eligible athletes aiming to compete at the 2026 European Box Lacrosse Championships (EBLC) in Prague, Czech Republic.
